OUR WORK
|
The Friends of the Angeles is actively engaged in supporting the projects and programs of the Angeles National Forest – and in connecting the community to the Forest. Our current focus is on expanding our network of supportive partners, bringing funding and resources to projects that we and the Forest Service have identified as being a high priority, and building our capacity to be an effective point of connection for the Forest community at large.

A key role of the Friends of the Angeles is to help garner support for projects and programs that benefit and align with Angeles National Forest priorities. We are currently working to raise funds and other resources in support of the following projects:

Forest Community Forum |
|
Each year, the Friends of the Angeles hosts an informal, open gathering of individuals and groups who are supportive of the Friends of the Angeles mission and who would like to stay informed and provide input and support. The purpose of a Forest Community Forum is to strengthen community engagement, facilitate communication and dialogue, and increase support for the projects and programs of the Angeles National Forest.
The Friends of the Angeles held its first Forest Community Forum in May 2014 at the Angeles National Forest headquarters. Nearly 150 people attended - including Forest leaders, volunteers, partners, and community members - and enjoyed a delightful evening of discovery, networking and celebration.
